A young girl witnesses a murder committed by her mother's boyfriend. She testifies against the bad guy and is placed into hiding in the Appalachian Mountains with her great uncle, a Native American Medicine man. Once there she begins to study the ancient healing society traditions of Morning Song Way. She helps to revitalize a small Native American community until the bad guy comes after her.
