At 30, Gregg Mozgala had never felt his heels on the ground. Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, a neurological disorder that disrupts communication between the brain and muscles, Mozgala was what physical therapists label a toe-walker. His family was told there was no cure, and he lived in fear of the medical prognosis that he would be in a wheelchair by age 40. But then he meets choreographer Tamar Rogoff and both of their lives change. The Faun Experiment tells the story of the remarkable intersection between art and science. Working together to create a dance performance, Mozgala and Rogoff discover that the degenerative effects of CP might not flow into an unstoppable downward spiral, and that people with CP can change their own prognoses.
