In the 1990s, Yerevan, the capital of newly-independent Armenia, had no electricity because of the civil war and energy embargo. In these extreme circumstances, the desperate (and tragicomic) attempts of a middle-aged couple to keep warm alternate with flashbacks to their 1960s Soviet-era childhood.
