In each episode, experienced police commissioner Roos (hence the title) and his two assistants (in Dutch called inspecteurs, literally `inspectors`, in English rather equivalent to detective sergeants) of the Belgian national police investigate and solve one serious crime (sometimes with other linked crimes), usually a murder or kidnapping.
