Based on Didar Amantay’s novel “Gakku”. It’s a story about two graduates of the faculty of philosophy and economy, whose youth was spent in the years that followed Soviet Union dissolution. A story about the generation that was lost between two different eras. The protagonists of the film are Temirlan and Kostya, who share a room in the university dormitory. It is the end of the 90s and the boys have every right to believe that the year 2000 could be the real end of the world. Two young philosophers, they both have their own moral views. But even being philosophers, they still remain two young pals with all the maximalism and dreams attributed to their age. And this story is nothing if not about friendship, love and the hopes of youth that can only happen when you’re 20.
