In 1922 at Borgo Larici, Francesco returns home to his family's wealthy lifestyle after receiving an anonymous note claiming that the truth of his mother's death is not what he was always told. He seeks help from his unaiding father and grandfather, owners of s successful textile factory, but instead finds help from school teacher Anita, much to his family's dismay.
