In December 2012 production began on the TV sitcom ‘Count Arthur Strong’ for BBC Two. It was recorded in front of a live audience at Pinewood Studios. It was aired on the 8th July 2013 and repeated the following September. BAFTA award winning writer, Graham Linehan (Father Ted and The IT Crowd) joined forces with Steve Delaney and Olivier Award winner Rory Kinnear for the 6 x 30 minute series. The series starts with news reports of the death of Max Barker, Count Arthur’s old partner from the early days on stage. Max’s son Michael (Kinnear), having agreed to write a biography of his famous father, sets out to find his father’s old variety partner. Little does Michael know that his few days of ‘research’ will create a world of chaos – Arthur’s world. The series is a Komedia Entertainment, Delightful Industries and Retort TV Production. The first series was nominated for a number of British Comedy and BAFTA Awards, including Best Sitcom in both. A second series was commissioned by the BBC before the first series aired and, on delivery, was transferred to BBC One for broadcast in early 2015, with the first episode airing on 6th January. The series is a Komedia Entertainment, Delightful Industries and Retort TV Production.
