Studly German soldier David gets a warm welcome, after a tour of NATO 'peace-making' duty in Afghanistan, from his girlfriend and house-mate Kirsten and his own (step-)family. But the bed-wetting he hides is just an early, minor symptom of a major trauma incurred on the Afghan base. Even a party step-dad throws for David's silver valor decoration, part of an imposed deal to keep the army's dirty laundry covered up, is cause to lash out angrily. David alternatively behaves most protective of doting kid step-brother Bennie and drags him into his scary sequence of nightmares, mood swings and guilt trips.
