It’s not the idealsummer experience she had hoped for, but with the help of her warmhearted oldaunt Luce (65) and her charming cousin, Sofia overcomes her initial boredom. Shemakes new friends and together they explore everything the summer on the islandhas to offer: sparkling sun, fun in the water, lots of ice cream and her first kiss. Buther carefree time comes to an abrupt end, when beloved Luce has to be taken tohospital, leaving Sofia with a part of her family she didn’t even know existed.Nevertheless, in the wake of tragedy, the family finally overcomes old traumasand when Sofia returns home, she realizes that revealing painful secrets ischallenging but very liberating.
