Darcey Bussell explores the dancing legend that is Fred Astaire, uncovering stories of the series of strong women that shaped and influenced him throughout his life and career. His story begins with the influence of his stage-struck mother, Ann, who thrust five year old Fred onto the stage as a convenient partner for his older sister, Adele, with whom he danced for 27 years. Darcey goes on to explore perhaps the most famous and recognisable woman in Fred's life, Ginger Rogers. Despite only making 10 films together, it was this partnership that cemented Fred Astaire's fame and legacy.
