There are no small parts. But there are a lot of bad parts. Max and Anthony are struggling New York theater actors who bounce from one awful production to the next while waiting for their big break. The prospect of roles in an eccentric auteur's experimental production of "Waiting for Godot" appears to be the light at the end of the tunnel, but they soon find that if you're an actor looking for credibility in the downtown theater scene, you're going to be doing a lot of waiting.
