Philip Cahn，American editor of Polish ancestry, in Hollywood from 1913. Unsuccessfully tried his hand at chicken farming. Subsequently joined the Universal editing department, where his brother Edward (later a noted director) was already employed. Under contract as full editor, 1933-1946. Co-founder in 1937 of what is now the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
