Jaclyn Vames was born Jaclyn Sabrina Radford in Hawaii, where her father was stationed in the United States Air Force. Her mother is a school librarian in Virginia. She also has two brothers as well as a sister. Jaclyn has lived in New Mexico, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.
