凯特·达赫蒂,Born and raised in Rochdale, Lancashire, Kate often draws upon her strong working class roots to bring truth to the playing of everyday women, particularity those women whose voices are never heard. Based in London for many years now and drama school trained, her forty year career has been developed through devising and improvisation work with directors such as Mike Leigh (Secrets and Lies and Topsy-Turvy) as well as many social-issue based TV dramas: EastEnders, Casualty, Doctors, Brookside and The Bill.The focus of all Kate's work, work informed by life's joys and unexpected losses, is a scrupulous attention to detail and dedication to the emotional truth of the character, honesty and integrity are vitally important to her. What interests her is the deep well of emotion within each of us ready to be tapped at a scratch of the surface of the skin, creativity in the present moment and the power of humour to touch the heart of another.
