Kate Cunliffe was born Kathleen J Tapping on 15 December 1960 the youngest child of Kathleen and Raymond Tapping. She grew up in the North East, England with her two older siblings. When she was young she attended the local school of performing arts and dance, also studied Drama at Northfield and B&S Tech.
