Adrian Voo was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He divided his childhood between Malaysia and New Zealand, where he attended Otago Boys' High School. He later moved to the United States and earned a bachelor of science from San Francisco State University. After graduating, he went on to study performance arts at New York Film Academy.
