Udit Narayan was born in Baradah, Saptary, Nepal. He is known for his work on Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) and Swades: We, the People (2004). He has been married to Deepa Narayan since 1985. He was previously married to Ranjana Jha.
