Shane Proctor topped his first sheep at the tender age of 3. He soon followed that up, learning to ride calves and later on steers. By the age of 16 he was competing in all 6 rodeo events in high school. He qualified for the high school finals in bareback and saddle bronc riding twice and in the bull riding three times.
